Family Court Representation, Settlement, Mediation, Collaborative Divorce, and Guardian ad Litem Services.

WELCOME

Welcome! If you are a parent that wants to prioritize your children in your divorce or other court matter, you've come to the right place. I have an extensive background in child welfare and working with all types of families. I am a trained collaborative divorce attorney and certified family law mediator in Washington State. I'm also a court-appointed guardian ad litem for children.

I began my career as a child protection attorney after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2006. As an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska and then Washington D.C., I engaged in regular trials and mediations to achieve the best outcome for each child in government custody. This involved working with parents, mediators, experts, social workers, guardians ad litem, defense attorneys and tribal leaders. These cases involved domestic violence, visitation, establishing paternity and paternal rights, inter-state and international custody issues, child guardianships, child placement preferences, mental illness of the parent or child, parental drug abuse, the Indian Child Welfare Act, termination or relinquishment of parental rights, and adoption eligibility. During this time, I also represented the State of Alaska in involuntary psychiatric commitment cases, served as the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Liaison to Center for Children and the Law and the Center for Youth at Risk, and was a Hotline Volunteer for the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

I then worked for the United States Department of Justice for several years, assisting FBI investigations in predominantly criminal matters. This involved working closely with financial analysts, intelligence analysts and special agents to gather and interpret information before a case was brought to trial. Notably, I worked on child welfare matters on Native American Reservations, child pornography and sex trafficking in Arizona. After settling in the Seattle area, I worked for a family law firm in Everett, WA, for a short time, then for Amazon as Corporate Counsel for Business Conduct and Ethics, where I volunteered my legal services to residents of Mary’s Place, a domestic violence shelter.

I now use all of my skills, experiences, and passions to help Washington parents involved in the family court system.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my family and catching up with my eight siblings across the country. I'm also working on publishing my first children's book.

If you think I'm a good fit for you and your family, please call to set up a consultation. I look forward to helping you and your children during this difficult time in your lives.
